I. Ask and answer the following question in pairs.
 1. What payment terms did Mr. Wood propose for his sample order?
 2. What does D/A stand for?
 3. Give a brief introduction of D/A?

IV.Translate the following into English orally.
 F: 我想请教一下你们通常的付款条件是什么。
   C: 不敢当。我们通常的付款条件是采用保兑的不可撤销的的信用证付款。凭即期汇票在提交装船意气时付款。
   F:我明白了。那我什么时候要开出信用证呢?
   C:一般地说,信用证应该在装船月份前30天到达我方。如果订单要求立即装运,则应以电报方式开出。
   F:这可以理解。就我们眼下这笔订单,你们能否同意采用承兑交单付款方式呢?你瞧,这是样品性质的订单。
   C:很抱歉,我们不能同意承兑交单付款方式。承兑交单只有在买卖双方非常了解,并且几乎不会发生不付款的情况下才使用。如果货物发出,到达目的地遭到拒绝,我们将处于十分被动的地位。
   F:那怎么可能呢?你们应该相信我嘛,对不对?
   C:对不起,我们双方实在爱莫能助。在这种情况下作用证是我们的通常做法。
   F:那么我们用付款交单怎么样?我想我们双方都坚持自己的观点是不明智的。
   C:好吧。我知道你们向银行要求开立信用证得花费很多钱,而且为了这一小批货也有点不值得。这次我们破例照顾你们,同意付款交单。但是今后的买卖我们仍然要用信用证,怎么样?
   F:好极了。谢谢你
